Herbal Acne Treatments

Herbal acne treatments are an ideal place for us to begin.

Whether our acne is caused by our hormones or by other factors, herbal remedies are effective.

Hormonal Acne Doesn’t Stand a Chance against These Herbs

They are:
  • Burdock Root
  • Dandelion Leaves
  • Milk Thistle
  • and Red Clover
So, what do these herbs do?

Well they do 2 things. They cleanse the liver and the blood.

Here’s the deal with the liver. A liver that is not performing at its best can worsen acne.

Why is that?

Because it cannot effectively breakdown and clear excess hormones as it should.

So think about it....

Our bodies are producing too much androgen and progesterone hormones. But our livers cannot get rid of this surplus. Then there’s a good chance we’ll struggle with hormonal acne.

But the herbs mentioned above can cleanse our livers. They also improve its work rate. So why not give these herbs a shot?

In addition they can also cleanse the blood.

The blood transport nutrients and oxygen to our skin cells. But if our blood isn’t clean, toxins may also be passed on.

Do you remember what we learnt earlier about the skin and toxins?

Well just in case here’s a reminder.

The skin also has the ability to get rid of toxins. But our skin cells can die if they are required to expel too much toxins from our bodies.

And we all know that too much dead skin cells can clog pores and lead to acne.

So the herbs above mentioned above (especially the Burdock Roots and Red Clover) are powerful blood cleansers.

All the more reason to give them a try, don’t you think?

Benefit of Tea Tree Oil Herbal Acne Treatment

Tea tree oil is a natural antibiotic and antiseptic. This means that it can destroy harmful bacteria and germs (including P. acnes).

Here’s how to use tea tree oil as an herbal remedy for acne:

  • We can dab full-strength tea tree oil (but sparingly) on our blemishes and breakouts 3 times each day.
  • Or we can add 1 dropper of tea tree oil to ¼ cup of warm water. Thereafter we can soak a clean cotton ball into the mixture and then pat it on the affected areas of our faces. However be sure that we use 100% cotton.
