A popular question asked by many facial skin care patients
I naturally have oily skin and it’s usually prone to breakouts.
But in the last few weeks my skin has been completely dry. So much so that it’s literally peeling off my face. I exfoliate regularly and have tried different moisturizers.
But nothing seems work. The dryness continues and my face feels tight and dry.
What can I do to stop this? Could I be lacking vitamins or something?
Our advice helps skin care patients solve the problem plus save time and money
To properly moisturize dry skin requires not only a moisturizer buy also a deep penetrating serum.
You see a moisturizer only adds moisture to the surface layer of dead skin cells (a.k.a epidermis). But it is unable to reach the lower layer of living skin cells (a.k.a the dermis). Thus if you use a moisturizer and your skin still feels tight and dry…
…then it’s an indication that it’s the dermis that is dry and being neglected.
So to moisturize the dermis one would need a penetrating serum. Serums have the ability to travel deeply into the skin. And is capable of transporting moisture to the living skin cells.
Thus it would be wise to use a serum and then use the normal moisturizer to get rid of that dry and tight feeling.
